The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) will meet business leaders this week to discuss how to cut red tape for companies operating in the UK.
BDO reports that BIS is consulting the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) with a view to streamlining regulations and making it easier for businesses to operate and grow in the current climate.
The consultation is part of the government's Red Tape Challenge, those working in

"As well as limiting the impact of forthcoming regulations such as AWR [Agency Workers Regulations] and pensions, our priority is to drive a proactive campaign on reviewing the existing regulatory landscape for recruiters," said employment relations minister Ed Davey.
It is hoped that some of the 21,000-plus rules for companies operating in the UK will be removed, giving a boost to many sectors.
Earlier this month, BDO told wholesale companies that they must be willing to adapt and evolve in order to continue trading, developing their own "enhanced, value added services".
