SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS DEMONSTRATE REAL VALUE OF MAPPING A MARKET

MARKET MAPPING – COMMERCE – UK

A major FTSE 100 Pharmaceuticals company were looking to appoint a Head of Risk Management into their UK business. A key requirement was that they sought to recruit a risk specialist from a direct competitor or Big 4 who had relevant pharmaceutical experience.

With only a very finite number of senior people working in the pharma industry with risk management expertise it was essential that we produced an accurate and thorough snapshot of all people meeting this criteria. Our client also needed this work completed within a very short timeframe as they were replacing an individual who had recently resigned.

Within 10 working days we produced a complete blueprint of all the available talent. It demonstrated the small pool of candidates available but also gave the project real focus. We discussed a number of the listed names and what the strategy should be to attract them. From the listing we chose only a small number of targets but because of the highly specific nature of the role and personalisation of the approach, we received high levels of interest from the individuals.

The position was successfully filled within an 8-week period from the inception of the project and the market mapping exercise underpinned the success of this assignment.

The Integral Difference: Recognising the potential difficulty of the project due to the small addressable market of candidates, our two-part search process ensured that we presented a comprehensive picture to our client, informing decisions during the recruitment process.
