During a multi-day client visit in Hong Kong we were briefed on the growth in demand for Risk & Compliance services locally and across the Chinese mainland. This was being driven by increased regulation within the financial services market, especially in relation to Basle 2 and the Solvency agreements.
Due to this growth in demand, we were asked to find a Partner with Chinese language skills who had extensive Risk & Compliance experience from within a financial services firm, a rival Consultancy, or a local regulatory body.
Having conducted an extensive search across these markets, we identified a fluent Chinese speaker in Europe who had a track record within both Financial Services and Consulting. The candidate had a strong desire to return to Beijing to take advantage of the exceptional growth opportunities and to leverage his experience within an emerging market.
Following an extensive interview process, the candidate was offered partnership and relocated to China six months later. The candidate is now considered one of the leading Financial Services Risk experts in the Chinese market.
